Since my scary EMP doctors visit, where I was totally incapacitated with an extemley bad flare in my knee, I have been turned down for mobility again. I was unable to get in or out of bed unaided, and was resorting to weeing in a bucket at the side of my bed due to the pain. I had the day before got stuck on the loo for 40 mins, as on my own, and unable to get off the loo, hence resorting to the bucket. My doc gave me morphine for the pain, which stopped me going totally mad with the pain. The only outings I have are to the doctors, or hospital appointments. They put in the report I was able to walk 80 meters, slowly. I could climb stairs (despite the fact I live in a bungalow due to mobility issues) and can take part in social activities!!!!!!!!!!! I am really upset, and totally mystified by their descision. I could not have been in a worse physical state when the EMP doc was here. I was unable to get in or out of a chair, let alone socialise!

I will appeal, but feel totally gutted that I have to go through even more stress, that I could well do without. Any advice would be appreciated:worried: Thanks.

Hi idshrubb is this the second time you have been turned down for it.I can't remember were you in bed the last time that she came to see you.Get an appael started right away.It is so frustrating when you know you are not fit to do any thing.Have you been in touch with the cab and see if they can help you with the forms.See if they can get someone to come to you so you don't have to go out if you are not feeling well enough.Elisabeth

Hi idshrubb :wavey:

First of all i am sorry to hear that you were turned down, it is such a stressful time.

I am really glad that you are going to appeal, have you had any help with filling the forms in or did you complete them yourself, if you had help then maybe you could go back to who ever helped you in the first place or you could try contacting a company called 'Dial UK' i am not sure if you have heard of them but they are there to help people who are in situations like yourself, here is the link to their website (hopefully they have an office near you) http://www.dialuk.info/
I have never actually had help from them with filling in the forms but they have given me great advise on other matters, i will be contacting them next time to help me with my forms though as they are very well knowledged on all the disability rules etc and the people who i have spoken to about them have always spoken very highly of them.

Good luck :luck: with your appeal, let us know how you get on. I am not sure if you are aware but you only have i think 1 month to start the ball rolling for the appeal otherwise you will have to start from scratch again.

Take care  Jo

Thanks for the advice. I completed the forms on my own, but will now seek help in lodging my appeal. I will give DIAL a go! Used cab last time, but felt the were as suprised as me last time in being turned down. Appeal here we come...again! Just a shame that it takes so much of my already depleated energy levels to go through it all again. Will let you know, cheers all x

It seems so arbitrary and unfair, dependant on the whims of the doctor and where one lives more than need. Sending you encouraging and strengthening hugs.
