I've been getting Tesco Grocery home deliveries for 2.5 years now and find it the greatest boon especially as there are two flights of stairs up to our flat. That saving of effort is worth every penny of the delivery charge
For the first time, last week's delivery was 20 mins late. I had called to check on status but part of the order was missing too so when I called about that I mentioned the lateness again. They cancelled the delivery charge because of the lateness, so if you ever get a late delivery, do complain about it.

Sounds like a great deal. A friend of mine once had her order delivered, plus an extra bag that was obviously from someone who had much more expensive tastes than she did ............

Unfortunately in NZ it is only the more expensive supermarket chains that do deliveries. The warehouse style supermarket that I shop at (and save big money at) doesn't do deliveries. So, I do a huge shop once a fortnight coz I hate shopping with avengence. Then we just top up from the more expensive local supermarkets as needed.

Fingers crossed you get a surprise bag of 'extras' too - but then the moral dilemna, do you keep the extras or ring the shop to let them know .......

cheers

I wish we had Tesco's but no-one here does deliveries at all. I'm with Raglet on hating shopping but no way near organised enough to do that big shop!

Don't use Asda they are useless especially if you complain, I have had many deliveries at least an hour late, the last one was over 2 1/2 hours late, the store rung me at the start of the delivery slot and said they were running about an hour behind, after several calls and noone really knowing what was happening the delivery finally arrived, and the driver confiremed that he hadn't even left the store when they rung so how could they know how late it was?!

Tesco, Sainsburys and Ocado I have no problem with any damaged missing items etc are refuned without question.

I have been having my shopping delivered for virtually 5 years and only ever pop to the shop to get things I have run out of now. Well worth the money, but I wish they would put it away as well sometimes!!!!
(I guess you cant have eevrything).

Yup, Tesco home deliveries are absolutely brilliant!! :)

A big supermarket here does do home deliveries but you have to go online and type all the things you want on a blank page and then the supermarket people select the brands they'll send (and thus the prices of the products really), so I very rarely use it...

I used to get most of my food delivered in Scotland with Tesco and they were truly wonderful; always brought the shopping inside, told me what was in what bag and always put the bags on a specific spot on the kitchen counter so I'd know where they were! Very helpful and polite indeed!

I used to think it was a bit self indulgent but since being ill I've been getting Sainsbury's to deliver. Don't think I would ever go back!!

They are always on time and deliver everything I ask for. I find it saves money too as I would shove stuff in the trolley if I were in the actual store. We were used to popping into the supermarket almost every night on the way home from work and decided there and then what we were having for tea. Now it's more organised and healthy!
