Hi all,

Now that I have got all my results back I thought I would update you on my breathing difficulties expressed in my last post -

http://www.thelupussite.com/forum/showthread.php?t=69254&highlight=breathing+difficulty (for those who didn't see it before)

I went to see the lung specialist but by that time could breathe normally most of the time due to the prednisolone increase. He could hear slight whistling/roughness but no more.

He sent me for an asthma provocation test which came up negative and a scanner which shows up a couple of things - some calcification and something else but both apparently benign. My scanner is described as being almost "normal" so yipeeeeeee :trampo: that's really good news because it means that there is no Interstitial Lung Disease as they suspected there might be.

He believes the problems are simply caused by my muscle weakness problems linked to myositis - that's all :woohoo:

so that's really good news all round!

Thats good but not totally good! You still have problems with your breathing that you need to take care of!

Have they suggested anything else to help you manage?

Take care!

Nope other than I'm OK so long as I don't actually run with the increased pred dose. I'll discuss it with the rheumy (I see her on 24/6) and see what she says but I think the main plan is maintain the pred dose.

Do you still use the inhailers? At least 24/6 is not too far away - lets hope the Pred keeps working until then!

After my chest infection I was left with inflammed throat etc., and still had difficulties breathing - use of inhailers still seemed to help relieve inflammation!

Take lots of care of yourself and stay away from viruses if you can!

Hi Katherine
You must be relieved. I hope the pred will calm things down soonest. Hopefully the rheumy can come up with some longer-term treatment.

Thinking of you

Hi Katharine, I am so,so, happy that your tests came out all fine.
Hou long do you have to stay on Prednisone? Is it just a small maintanance dose? Whatever, you are feeling better, your tests are good and we are all happy for you. Stay well.

I'm on 12.5mg pred and the docs seem to want to keep it there or thereabouts.
