I have spoken to a few other members who say 'We never bother with Valentines day'.........we don't celebrate it........

That is such a shame........

Celebrating Valentines Day is not all about sending a card or buying a present.......it's a day when we can show the person that we live with how much we care about them.......

My hubby for the majority of the time is also my 'carer' and I hate to think what it would be like without him to lean on sometimes.......physically and emotionally.......

Valentines day I will be cooking a special meal and getting dressed up with makeup.....and accessories......OMG....not that sort of accessories lol! :rotfl:

I meant wearing some of the jewellery he has bought me over the years.......we will be celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary soon :more:

In fact I have bought him a little pressy just to show my appreciation for all he does for me......a CD of the best of Pink Floyd in Concert........ ;)

How and will you be showing your appreciation :)

Hi Hazel,

I know alot of people that say that Valentine's Day is too commercialised or why do they have to show their feelings on that particular day. To a certain extent I agree, especially the amount of money some people spend. Hubby and I always do something nice that I usually plan - it's my chance to spoil him! One year I cooked a meal and we sat on the floor eating chocolate fondue and drinking champagne.

This year I have booked a Turkish restaurant near us which is a bit different. We've both got the next day off work so will have a long lie and a lazy day.

'Accessories' Hazel - ooh er missus! :rotfl:

I guess I am bit of a bore-we celebrate usually with the dd just by going out to dinner. We stopped buying cards and gifts so long ago that I can't remember. I used to dress up my dd in red and pink outfits with hearts then she got too big. I will wear heart shaped jewelry. This V-day though hubby won't be home, so it will be just be dd and I and it will be like any other day. I did tell hubby he could buy me a 1 carat heart pendant to make up for being gone, but I won't hold my breath.

Pam, I love chocolate fondue and champagne-I may steal that for our 17th wed anniv that is coming up in April:wink2:

Happy Valentine's Day:love:

I want to follow your lead, but need to know exactly what 'accessories' you DO mean????

In an ... ti ... ci ... pation! :rotfl:

Sorry ... read on ... got it - jewellery. Nope - no jewellery gifts to sparkle in here. I'm more likely to get a new iron.
I've got him a heart felt card.

Hmmmmmm - think there's definitely something missing, isn't there?

Happy Valentines all
