Hello all.
Does this look like Vasculitis? Is happened quite fast. I didn’t bump my leg went to bed and woke up with it. I am going to call my doctor about it. Just wondering if anyone here has seen anything like this and if so what was it?
••••UPDATE••••
I received the biopsy results.
Leukocytoclastic Vasculitis (LCV)
My Dermatologist and Rheumatologist both agree it is due to RHUPUS/ RA and LUPUS (SLE). I have an appointment on the 21st of this month at Rheumatology and will hopefully get a treatment plan. LOL 😄 wish me luck. At least this type of Vasculitis is the least worrisome of other types. 😊

When I look at your leg in comparison to you ankle it looks swollen. Is the leg hot to the touch?

My cramps are independent of any bouts of vasculitis. They are similar to yours but they also twist or contort the feet and legs. It's strange but heat on my thighs helps more than heat on my feet. Sometimes massaging the area helps others it makes it worse. There are several medications your neurologist may suggest depending on what he/she thinks the root cause is.

Good luck with your appointments,

Both my legs tend to swell. The Dermatologist commented on the swelling today too. It is warm to touch and tender. I did get a biopsy done today at Dermatology. As far as the cramps… I have had “Charlie horses “ in my feet and calves but never on my shins. Also I haven’t had the twisting and contorting prior to this. My fingers will lock up sometimes but no muscle cramps. I will have to try the heat on my thighs if it happens again.

Do the cramps stay or do they go away fairly quickly? I used to be able to stretch the cramp out in the opposite direction but now they stay. Mine usually they go away when I am sleeping but not always. My hands do it also.

Did the Dermatologist say when you would get the biopsy results?

The cramps come on suddenly and I can rub my legs and feet which makes it slowly stop. I have noticed when I lay down to sleep I get cramps.
I will get the biopsy results in about 2 weeks.

Dehydration, low vitamin B, or low potassium, calcium or magnesium can cause muscle cramps. Some people have more cramping in hot weather while one of my triggers is cold weather. You might want to track your cramps and see if you can link them to something.

I have low Vitamin D. No hot weather right now where I am…. LOL 😄 I live in the mountains. Today was warm (46 degrees) which is very temporary. We are supposed to get more snow soon. It could be the cold but I do not go out in it for any real length of time. Also the humidity is very low where I live. I will try to pay more attention if/when it happens again. I think the RA is flaring because my hands are warm to touch, swelling, and painful to bend/move. Oh well. LOL 😄 seems to be my norm.
I really appreciate you replying and any advice.
