Very Overwhelmed - Too many doctors

I feel like I am in a tailspin with no signs of stopping. I've lost count of how many doctors I've seen and still need to see in the last few weeks-Seems like my body is certainly turning against me.

I still have a bladder infection, despite a 10 day course on antibiotics, so I've just begun another course..I am concerned how this long term infection and antibiotics is affecting the baby...althought they say its OK, well I still worry since this has been going on for almost a month. I've also tested positive for Group B Strep infection..not the end of the world I know but just another worry for baby and more antibiotics before and after birth.

Went to dermatologist...have developed eczema all over both legs, have itchy pimply rash all over my back and discoid lesions beginning to show up on my front. More creams, lotions..etc

My gallbladder is misbehaving due to pregnancy..nothing serious, just painful and annoying

And of course, my nose and mouth are a mess, joints are beginning to become tender and I know I have to call the rheumy and be seen..I have follow up appt on april 17th, but should probably be seen sooner... I dread seeing just one more doctor!

I am still waiting wound culture results on my little guy, they tell me there are two organisms growing in there but need more culture time to determine if it is drug resistant or not..Although it has not gotten any worse, its not healing as fast as I thought it would.

I just want to scream
AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! (OK that felt better:) )

Whine over....

Hi Sharon :)

Sometimes a little scream does the trick - Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr - Arrrrrrrgghhhhhh - I feel better too now.

I don't have any particular experience of pregnancy and lupus as I developed symptoms just after rmy first child was born but during my second pregnancy I did have terrible trouble with bronchial infections that just wouldn't go away.

I ended up on antibiotics (and strong ones) for about 4 or 5 months of my pregnancy. I always used to think we could take nothing when pregnant but it seems that we can take more than we think. Both my boys are normal, happy, healthy and very intelligent little lads, so it seems it did no harm.

I hope you find that a little reassuring. At least with all those docs you are being well followed up and, at the end of the day, we have to trust our docs.
The rheumy appointment is a good thing and, even if it is yet another doc, your rheumy is the important person for your lupus so I would be ressured that it is coming up.

I took all sorts of things when I was pregnant and no harm has come to my three strapping daughters, though they took a toll on me.........:hehe: .

You are being monitored very well and the doctors wouldn't give you the antibiotics unless you really needed them. It would be just as well to keep your rheumy up to date on your condition as he might be able to suggest something to complement the treatment.

Hope your little one is getting over his injury (sorry I forget which "bit").

Take care and I hope you are feeling much better soonest.

Love Judi xx
