I read this interesting link about new drugs that will be options for coumadin/warfarin with hopefully less risk of bleeding and food affecting clotting ability. It sounds like these drugs are in very late phase trials & may be available soon - possibly good news for anyone who has a hard time controlling their INR or clotting problems with current medications...

Thank you for posting that article, Maia.

I don't take it but I know people who have to take coumadin. I know how much of a pain it is trying to control their INR. That would be great to have one less thing to have to deal with.

I have been on coumadin for 4 years for antiphospholipid syndrome. I test every 3 weeks or oftener if I am not in the 3.0-3.5 range.

An alternative to coumadin is needed that is not affected by diet.
