Well I went to the kidney doctor yesterday. Very nice lady by the way. Very gentle and explained everything fully (maybe too fully :rotfl:) I felt like I was in a medical class :hehe:

But she ordered the 24 hour urine. Said that she does not want to repeat any testing I already had done ! Good ! I brought her results so I would not have to repeat anything.

She is wanting all my records from rhemo.

She said I am a "difficult" case. She will wait for the results and if considered normal range it could be that my kidneys are a little inflamed from Lupus and maybe this will happen off and on. She said if it came back abnormal then she would need to treat accordingly and do biopsy, etc. and explained all the options. But of course, that was her being very informative because without the results - no clue !

She did say that you need to be very careful with your kidneys, uses of ibuprofen, etc. and watch them carefully because things can happen quickly.

She was concerned about my lymph nodes being swollen and bruises that are on my legs. I am not concerned. Been there done that.

So I'll do the 24 hour urine and go from there.

Paula,

I am so glad to hear you had a good appointment with the kidney doctor. Sometimes I prefer woman doctors. I think they listen better, to me anyway.:rotfl:

Good luck with the urine test. Any idea when you will have results?

Hi Paula

Just wanted to say glad you had a good appointment. It makes a refreshing change to hear that somebody comes away from such appointments feeling fully informed and positive.:)

Hope the 24 hour test goes well and please keep us updated on things

Hi Paula,

Sounds like you have found a very good doctor.
Good luck on your 24 hr urine catch.

I did that not to long ago. (actually twice)
I was told the same thing about kidney involvement, it can happen really fast. He said the test show normal then out of the blue they go up.

Take care and let us know how the test turns out.

Thank you all for your replies and good wishes.

Yes it is nice, once in a while, to get a doctor who fully explains all situations. Some of her stories were frightening though. But she covered all aspects.

I probably will do the urine on Friday = my day off. I don't think my work would appreciate me keeping a urine jug in their refrigerator, nor carrying it to the ladies room .:rotfl::lol::rotfl:

Paula,

I had to laugh about the jug in your works refrigerator.:lol::lol:

I think just for grins and giggles you should do it.

Just don't put your name on it.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Let us know how you get along and good luck.:wink2:
