Hello Again,

I found 2 white patches on my jaw line, and little red lines. It sounds like leukoderma, I think I read that it is a symptom of lupus, I am not sure, does anyone know anything about this?

Thanks,
Connie

Hi Connie
I think leukoderma does mean simply white patches and the thing is to know what's causing them. I haven't seen them described as a symptom of lupus although some people do suffer loss of pigmentation in patches. There's a disease called vitiligo that sometimes goes along with lupus and some other diseases like thyroid problems and pernicious anemia.
It's a good idea anyway to be have thryoid tests and a blood count should show up anemia.
A dermatologist might have a very good idea what they are.
Cheers

Vitilgo

Hello Again Clare,
How are you doing? Thanks again for being so patient with me, I don't have any friends too talk too, so I really appreciate your time. Yes, it says that leukaderma is also called vitilgo. Its another symptom that I just noticed, it seems like everyday something else is happing too me, I just started getting new symptoms, my reumaltologist appt is the end of april, I am going to write down my symptoms and bring them too him. Yes I do have thyroid disease also, I have had that for around 8 years, and I am on synthroid for that. So maybe it is a symptom of that. The white and numb fingers, just started around a month ago. So I am going to bring the blood work results, the urine tests, and a list of my symptoms, what do you think? I was thinking about calling my gp and telling him about all my joint pain, because I don't see the specialist for 4 weeks, I am only taking motrin, I am laying under a heating blanket 24-7, at least when I am not on here stressing. Any ideas on anything else that would help the joint pain, I have also been taking hot baths, but they don't seem to work much.
Hopefully all is well with you, I don't know anything about you, or your family, Believe it or not, I am a nurse, but when it comes to us, we make the worst patients...

Take Care,
Connie

Hi Connie, I just read your post, and I see where you are in pain and lying under a heating blanket, and, as you said; "when I am not stressing." I just wanted to say that I usually tell undiagnosed lupies on this site that I live by two rules. #-1-the sun is your enemy, and #2-stress= pain. Connie please memorise #2, cause it can save your sanity some days, and help you stay pain free or almost on other days. be well.
