absquatulate ....
I can only conclude, after much ruminating, that this word describes the act of forcing one's abdomen into a girdle with bent knees post child birth ... ???
I am right, am i not?
My dictionary goes straight from absorption to abstain.
So it misses all the many words beginning a.b.s.q.
It is clearly a very, very dodgy dictionary.
This fills me with joy, cos it means, since i got my dictionary when i was 11 years old, that some of my English teachers might have been quite wrong about me. All those spelling errors can now be blamed on my rubbish dictionary.
equat (just short of an equation)
squat (what you do whilst bending down to grasp your girdle) 1.
saque (from the famous saying 'saque cloth and ashes')
squab (it is a true word but cannot remember its meaning) 2.
basque (the only girdle it is acceptible for your partner to view) 3.
next word -
didodecahedral
