I am having problems getting zofran from my medicare persciption drug plan (healtnet). They don't approve it. I'm going to try to do an appeal but I don't think I'll be successful. I have blue cross/blue sheild but I think I'll run into the same problem. Zofran costs 2000 without insurance!!! I was taking another anti nausea drug and ended up in the ER. The drug caused my face and tongue to move uncontrolably. Most of the other ant nausea drugs have the same side effects. Zofran is only one I can take. My doctor does administer it in the hospital before my cytoxan but I need to take some at home also. For anyone here using zofran for their chemo nausea, did your insurance cover it.
