Hi,
Sorry Ive not been here for a long time. Had a lovely chat with a few of you in the room tonight. Thanks. x

Any feed back on mouth ulcers would be appreciated. Ive had this one under my tongue for weeks and weeks. Its getting me down now. It just wont seem to heal.

My tongue swells when I flare. My throat swells too. Would like to know if anyone else gets this. Also apart from visible ulcers my tongue goes red and white and mishapen round the edges and is so sore all the time.

Nice to see you all and read your posts earlier.

Take care

Hello!

I am VERY new here and do not yet have a specific diagnosis but I can relate to you. I went to my DR with mouth ulcers and nasal sores and he prescribed Ranitidine. It is amazing, super cheap, and has no ill side effects! I was told you can use it as needed or daily!

I took my first one with 2 mouth ulcers and a nasal sore...woke up the next morning and they were nearly gone!

Hope this helps!!

Ps- Just wanted to say if you look it up, it will say its an acid reducer, but it works for ulcers also! I promise!

Hi Sally, any mouth ulcer that takes that long to heal is always best checked out by a doc. They will also be able to prescribe something to help. Let us know how you get on.

Take care

My rheumy has just prescribed me a strong mouth wash to get rid of mouth ulcers. You could ask about something like this. (Not sure it will work though!)

I find mouth ulcers very difficult to get rid of or live with!

Take care and I hope to meet you in chat sometime.

Hi Sally,

One Christmas I had symptoms similar to yours and I chalked them up to Lupus. When they didn't improve I went to the doctor and discovered I was allergic to walnuts. So if things aren't improving get it checked out.

Take care,

Hi Sal,

I use Corsodyl gel (it comes in a toothpaste tube and you can use it as a topical gel (like Bonjela or as a toothpaste) it doesn't always clear the ulcers up very quickly but it relieves the symptoms almost immediately.

Don't confuse it with the New Corsodyl daily defence toothpaste stuff which isn't (in my opinion) as good.

Hope this helps

Hi everyone,
I don't have mouth sores anymore, but a couple a years ago I had some annoying ones, and I read, on this forum actually, to put a used tea bag under my tongue. Very British I thought. It worked well for me! I felt some tannic sensation, or astringent maybe, and the next day it was much better, and gone in a week. My doctor was amused. I don't know if it will work for anyone else, but just passing the info...
Best,
Vincent

I too am not diagnosed yet but I have the mouth ulcers. I have found tea tree oil works well if you dilute and use it as a mouthwash. Also taking a q-tip and dabbing the ulcers will work, with the tea tree oil. Do not swallow just rinse and spit.

I've just had a couple of whoppers and I bought some stuff called igloo I think from the chemist. It forms a gel-like seal over the ulcer to protect it and also has some sort of healing element to it. You can put it on every hour. One of mine was a cm in diameter and it was improved within 5 hours! worth a try anyway.
